5 years with Man Utd: The loftiest deal TeamViewer won in 2021

One of the leading tech hubs in Germany, TeamViewer has joined arms with one of England’s prime football teams, Manchester United. Though both sides are from two different worlds, a contract has been signed and has finalised a sponsorship deal between the two European giants. The partnership will see both sides augment their profits through the widening of TeamViewer’s market.

The TeamViewer logo will be embedded onto the Man United shit. We were accustomed to the Chevrolet badge, but that will be removed, which only means that United’s and Chevy’s contract has come to an end.

The Chevy deal had lasted for seven years and was considered United’s largest signing for just shirt sponsorship. The deal with Chevrolet was worth £64 million a year compared to the TeamViewer deal which is worth £47 million. This means United will witness a drop of £17 million from the new deal. The Chevy deal got monetary funds for the club and gave cars to the entire football team.  The automaker gave the players their Chevrolet Camaro, which we saw Daley Blind driving and the likes of David De Gea, Mata and Evans were captured in the Captive SUV. These are smooth cars. Check out the Chevrolet deals here for a sneak peek at what you could also be cruising around in. We like the 2021 Chevy Colorado with 308 horsepower from its V6 engine; great for off-roading.

What does TeamViewer have to offer? Well, United signed a five-year deal with a dynamic global software company.  The collaboration will connect fans all around the world through remote software developed by TeamViewer. Fans will get to experience a virtual stadium, unique behind the scenes content, and augmented reality at play at Old Trafford Stadium.

Man U players also stand to benefit from the deal. Old Trafford will be upgraded with enhanced training and performance systems through augmented reality (AR). AR will also allow remote access to players for scheduling and training, and medical examinations.  Fancy this; scouts will also be able to use the tech. All this mechanisation will be put in place to strengthen the squad’s performance and hopefully push the team from second place and into winning the Premier League title.

The partnership will also see the business at the Stadium stepping up. There will now be enhanced accessibility and IT support in all offices. The tech will also increase security and provide solutions for stadium controls to optimise safety, thus seeing a smooth flow of ticket sales. The system is also intelligent enough to give alerts when there are faults. All this will be done through the control of the Internet of Things (IoT).

Since this deal is supposed to be two-way, it is meant to benefit both sides. The deal will expose TeamViewer’s technology to a new and broader market; the Manchester United fan base. Because the brand is versatile, it is suitable for private, commercial and industrial use; thus, the partnership will help to market the tech hub’s comprehensive solutions portfolio to all customer segments globally.

Though it may take time for TeamViewer to start booming in profits as a result of this collaboration, analysts say the deal is worth it in the long run. It’s pretty obvious that the large market needed by the software developers will soon go their way as Manchester United is the most popular football club anywhere you go. So, we are right in calling it the loftiest deal TeamViewer won in 2021.

Mike Ashley on Newcastle takeover case

Liam Kennedy has dropped some promising insight from Mike Ashley on the upcoming Newcastle United takeover case against the Premier League.

The Lowdown: Arbitration statement

Ashley has launched two separate claims against the top flight – the Competition Appeals Tribunal (CAT) case over the decision-making process in the failing of the deal between him and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) group; and the arbitration case, which is set to take place this month.

Earlier this week, Newcastle released a statement on their official website requesting for the forthcoming arbitration process to be made public, but this is only possible if the Premier League also agree to it as otherwise it will remain entirely confidential.

They also claimed in the statement that they have ‘nothing to hide’ with regards to the process, and even suggested that the Premier League should have ‘no reason to be afraid of the public spotlight’, providing that they have acted ‘lawfully and properly’.

The Latest: Ashley insight

Writing in his latest piece for The Shields Gazette, Kennedy – who has been following developments in the takeover saga – has shared that Ashley feels as if he has the ‘winning hand’ when it comes to both cases.

The owner of the Tyneside club is understood to be confident that he can still push through a deal with the consortium, and the call to make the arbitration process is not one over fear that he will lose.

The Verdict: Promising

It is certainly promising to hear how confident Ashley is of winning the case as it comes into fruition later this month. The statement released was a powerful one, and clearly shows his intent when it comes to the arbitration hearing.

If the Premier League are equally as or more confident than Ashley that they will win the case, then they should really be calling for publicity as they should have ‘nothing to hide’, just like the Tyneside club declared.

Nonetheless, it promises to be an intriguing case and should paint a much clearer picture over the direction of where the takeover is heading.

Vamos tentar trazer 40, 50 mil pessoas para empurrar o time.

Wolves transfer update on Mota

Many Wolves fans have been left to fume as a transfer update emerged on Dany Mota.

As per Fonza Morza, Jorge Mendes would like to bring the Portugal youth international to the Midlands club, and Monza would be tempted to sell him for the right price.

Mota does not play at a very high level compared to the Premier League, and only scored a mere seven goals in 36 games in total over all competitions in the 2020/21 season (Transfermarkt).

With other strikers already at Molineux in Raul Jimenez, Fabio Silva, Rafa Mir and Patrick Cutrone, it would not really be smart business to invest in a player who would be a big gamble in bringing him to the English top flight, with other options likely to be available further down the summer transfer window.

Wolves fans on Mota transfer update

These WWFC supporters fumed as the transfer update on Mota was shared on Twitter:

“NO”

“Not good enough. If he was, he wouldn’t be playing in Serie B in Italy at the age of 23. I saw him in the under 21s for Portugal. Again if he was that good wouldn’t he at his age be pushing the national side? Not an upgrade on Mir and Cutrone.”

“Pray he is only being linked because he is Portuguese and a Mendes client, if this is really the type of player we are looking to sign, we are going back to the Championship, which I’m worried could be a real possibility, I have no faith in the owners or this new manager”

Sheff Wed flop Abdi criticises Carvalhal

Ex-Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Almen Abdi has criticised Carlos Carvalhal, claiming he ‘didn’t like’ his former manager at Hillsborough.

The Lowdown: Abdi flops at Sheff Wed

Abdi made the move to Wednesday from Watford back in the summer of 2016, in what looked like a good piece of business at the time.

The Swiss midfielder proved to be a hugely disappointing signing, however, making just 23 appearances in total and contributing little towards the Owls reaching the Championship playoffs in both 2016/17 and 2017/18.

Abdi eventually left Hillsborough in 2019, following a desperately underwhelming three years in Sheffield.

The Latest: Carvalhal blamed for struggles

Despite his struggles, Abdi appears to be placing the blame with Carvalhal, telling The Athletic that he never felt he was treated well by his manager at the time:

“The coach didn’t help me very much because I’d play two games, then the third, which I didn’t play well, so he’d drop me, then drop me again and after a while, you lose confidence.

“I needed a manager who trusted me, who believed in me, who pushed me. He (Carvalhal) didn’t do that. He’s energetic, he’s enthusiastic.

“He’s a really good coach and he did well. But he didn’t trust me. He didn’t like me and I didn’t like him that much. So it was really hard mentally. I was asking myself why? What have I done?

“I was one of the best players at Watford in the Championship and Premier League for the whole season and played almost every game.

“And suddenly, I’m not good enough to play for Sheffield Wednesday, with all due respect they had a great team but I wasn’t good enough.”

The Verdict: Hugely disappointing signing

In truth, it could be argued that both Abdi and Carvalhal are to blame for the former’s lack of impact, but the majority of it still lies with the player himself.

He never hit the heights that many expected of him and the likes of Sam Hutchinson, Barry Bannan and Kieran Lee were far more prominent players in the middle of the park.

Wednesday coped just fine without Abdi, so nearly reaching the Premier League in 2017, so he needs to accept that he was a major flop at the club.

Jewell says Phillips could struggle elsewhere

Former Premier League manager Paul Jewell believes that Liverpool defender Nathaniel Phillips could get found out at another club.

The Reds Academy graduate had made just one first-team appearance in an FA Cup tie last season prior to his flurry of appearances following Liverpool’s centre-back crisis this term.

But Phillips ended up turning out 20 times for Jurgen Klopp’s men, including both legs against Real Madrid in Europe’s elite club competition, and played every minute of the final five Premier League matches which helped Liverpool secure their place back in the Champions League.

He scored once during those 20 outings, the crucial second goal in the victory at Burnley in the penultimate game of the season.

Despite his outstanding form when called upon this season, the return of Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez from injury and potential other centre-back additions mean that Phillips’ opportunities are likely to be restricted next term.

Both Burnley and Newcastle are already interested in the defender, although Jewell thinks that without world class players around him, he could become vulnerable.

He told The Transfer Tavern:

“It’s easy to say, but sometimes you go into a team which are less quality than Liverpool, you could get exposed, because he isn’t the quickest in the world.

“He’s done really well, he’s aggressive and is an honest professional but he’s got world class players around him – Trent one side, Robertson the other side, and the goalkeeper behind him.”

Celtic: Hoops still keen on James McCarthy

Celtic remain very keen on signing Crystal Palace midfielder James McCarthy this summer.

That’s according to a report from TEAMtalk, who claim that the Hoops were close to a deal for the Irishman in January.

McCarthy, on £50,000-a-week at Selhurst Park, is out of contract in a matter of months so could sign a pre-contract agreement with the Hoops ahead of a potential free transfer.

Newcastle United are also now back in the picture for the 30-year-old’s services ahead of the 2021/22 season, though, with the report suggesting the Hoops won’t make a firm decision on the central midfielder until they have finalised their plans for a new manager.

Transfer Tavern take

It seems as if Celtic don’t want to give up on the chance of signing January target McCarthy. However, with Newcastle on the chase too, they may have to be quick in regards to their search for a new manager to have any hope of signing the midfielder for nothing.

Should a deal gather pace ahead of the summer, McCarthy could become Dominic McKay’s first signing as Celtic CEO due to the fact he can pen a pre-contract before the window officially opens.

It may well end up being a busy summer for McKay and co in terms of recruitment at Parkhead, so starting by securing a free transfer for a player who has over 250 appearances under his belt in the Premier League and 42 international caps could prove fruitful.

Who knows, McCarthy could fill the boots of club captain Scott Brown, who will leave for Aberdeen this summer.

Rangers can sign their own VVD in Doekhi

Rangers have been linked with Vitesse centre-back Danilho Doekhi recently and he could prove to be Steven Gerrard’s own version of Virgil van Dijk at Ibrox should he join this summer.

What’s the word?

According to Football Insider, Rangers, Newcastle United and Fulham are all in the race to sign the 22-year-old defender, who has been a big part of Vitesse’s impressive campaign in the Eredivisie so far this season.

It has been previously reported that the defender would be available for just £1.5m this summer, as his contract with the Dutch side is set to expire at the end of next season, so he could prove to be a bargain signing for the Light Blues this summer if they can convince him to make the move to Ibrox.

Rangers’ own VVD?

When Rangers’ Old Firm rivals Celtic signed Van Dijk from FC Groningen in 2013, he was just 21-years-old and like Doekhi, was a prominent part of the Netherlands’ U21 squad.

The towering centre-back cost the Hoops just £2.6m, and has, of course, gone on to establish himself as one of the best defenders in world football after impressive spells with Southampton and Liverpool, finishing second in the 2019 Ballon d’Or voting after helping Liverpool win the Champions League.

Doekhi, who is a former Ajax youngster, has already made 90 appearances for Vitesse and has been impressive so far this season, averaging a solid 6.92 rating for his performances in the Dutch top-flight.

In 30 league games this season, Thomas Letsch’s side have conceded just 28 goals, which certainly suggests that Doekhi could help Gerrard’s side improve on their incredible defensive record this season.

The 22-year-old centre-back certainly looks set for a big future in the game and there is no reason why his career can’t follow a similar trajectory to Van Dijk’s should he make the switch to Ibrox this summer.

[freshpress-quiz id=“593776”]

Therefore, considering his talent and his reported asking price, sporting director Ross Wilson must do everything he can to sign him for Gerrard’s side this summer, as he could prove to be a superb addition.

Hauge signing would be bad for Djenepo

Southampton have been linked with a move for AC Milan ace Jens Petter Hauge recently and if he were to make the move to St Mary’s this summer, it could be bad news for Moussa Djenepo in relation to his future in Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side.

According to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, Southampton and Udinese are both keen on signing the 21-year-old, who has been frozen out of Stefano Pioli’s side since the turn of the year.

Hauge only made the move to the San Siro in October 2020 and enjoyed a superb start to life in Italy, contributing three goals and one assist in just five Europa League appearances for I Rossoneri, averaging an excellent 7.27 rating for his performances.

However, he has been limited to just three starts in Serie A, with the majority of his appearances coming from the bench, despite him finding the back of the net twice in the Italian top-flight.

His performances this season have already earned him comparisons to Barcelona legend Lionel Messi from some AC Milan fans, so they may not be too happy to see him leave the club for Southampton this summer, even if it is on loan.

Therefore, it seems clear that Hauge has a lot of talent and would be a good addition to Hasenhuttl’s side this summer, although it could cast doubt on the future of Djenepo.

[snack-amp-story url=”https://www.footballfancast.com/web-stories/southampton-saints-ralph-hasenhuttl-martin-semmens-st-marys” title=”Latest Southampton news, transfer rumours and more”]

The Mali international has struggled since joining from Standard Liege in the summer of 2019, with just four goals and two assists to his name in 49 appearances in all competitions.

Despite being labelled “super-talented” by Nathan Redmond after an impressive solo goal against Sheffield United, the young winger has been far too inconsistent during his time at St Mary’s and will almost certainly be considered a flop unless his performances drastically improve next season.

[freshpress-quiz id=“594431″]

Therefore, the added competition that Hauge would bring would likely see Djenepo lose his starting spot in Hasenhuttl’s side, as his return of one goal and no assists in 25 Premier League appearances this season is far from good enough.

And, in other news… Saints record-breaker has golden chance to win over Hasenhuttl, it’s make or break
