O confronto

A etapa inicial teve grande domínio do Coritiba. Empurrado pela torcida, o Verdão explorava a bola aérea e tentava encurralar o Tubarão dentro da própria área.

Em dois momentos o Coxa por muito pouco não abriu o marcador. No primeiro, Wellinton Júnior dominou a bola na grande área e bateu firme. A pelota triscou a trave e a torcida lamentou. Na segunda, Giovani bateu escanteio fechado e o poste impediu o gol do Coritiba.

Um dos mais inspirados no setor ofensivo, Wellinton Júnior voltou a assustar o Londrina. Desta vez, o camisa 18 arriscou de fora da área e Matheus Albino pegou.

Nos acréscimos a melhor chance do Coritiba. O goleiro do Tubarão errou no tiro de meta, Rodrigão recuperou, avançou sem marcação e tentou encobrir Matheus Albino, que defendeu a finalização.

No segundo tempo o Coxa veio para uma pressão incrível. Em apenas sete minutos, três chances foram criadas. A mais clara veio com Wellinton Júnior, que aproveitou uma sobra da zaga e exigiu ótima defesa do goleiro.

Aos 19 minutos a chance do jogo para o Coritiba veio em cobrança de pênalti. O zagueiro derrubou Rodrigão e o árbitro apontou para a marca da cal. Na cobrança, Rodrigão tirou tanto do goleiro que acertou a trave.

Em rara chance do Londrina, Higor Leite puxou o contra-ataque, invadiu a grande área e bateu forte. Wilson pulou e viu a bola passar perto do poste.

Nos minutos finais, o Coxa manteve o domínio, porém o cansaço e a falta de paciência atrapalhava na hora de concluir as jogadas e o Tubarão segurou o empate no marcador.

Hurricanes’ win was charged by a 54-ball 96 from Ben Dunk and stifling spells from Ben Laughlin and legspinner Cameron Boyce who took three wickets each.Electing to bat, Dunk got going from the second over, hitting Dirk Nannes for consecutive fours. Even though Tim Paine was dismissed in the fifth over, Dunk wasn’t perturbed as he targeted the leg side for three of his five sixes. He brought up his fifty off Jason Floros, who conceded 45 from four overs, with a four and a six in the 10th over and clobbered 16 more in his next over. Wickets fell at the other end but that didn’t stop Dunk from racing to his career-best score and charging Hurricanes to 167 even though he fell for 96 in the 17th over.Thunder never got going for the chase, losing two wickets in the first 13 balls, including the big wicket of Michael Hussey for 2. Three of their top four fell for single-digit scores as Usman Khawaja scored 28 at the other end before falling to Laughlin in the 10th over. Boyce wrapped up the tail by taking three wickets in six balls as Thunder saw only three more batsmen after Khawaja score in double digits and collapsed for 94.
