Over 80 times batsman played and missed and Surrey nearly escaped the day in a strong position. That and Middlesex’s late order rally.Resuming nine down, Malan and Colleymore played for an hour largely untroubled. Malan controlled the strike and Collymore was often trusted with two balls an over and resisted stoutly, allowing Malan to bring up an extra batting point. Twenty minutes of play was lost in bright sunshine on the second morning of the Trinidad Test because officials wanted to make sure no commercial contracts would be breached if the match continued without television coverage due to a power failure.In a Test that had already lost two hours to rain and lost more time on the second afternoon, the sight of the West Indies and Australia players marching back off the ground after assembling for the scheduled 9.30am start drew groans from the Tuesday crowd in Port-of-Spain. Play did not get underway until 9.50.Observers at the ground, including local radio commentators, speculated that upon hearing in the middle that DRS referrals would not be available, Australia’s captain Michael Clarke took his men from the field. However ESPNcricinfo understands that none of the players, umpires Marais Erasmus and Ian Gould, or the match referee Jeff Crowe, knew of the power cut until informed by the television production crew moments before the scheduled start.Upon discovering it, the umpires took the players from the field and a meeting was convened between management on both sides, the match officials and the WICB. The meeting concluded that play should re-start at 9.50 irrespective of whether or not the power returned. Any further cuts to television’s power source at the Queen’s Park Oval will not stop play from continuing.The power outage on the second morning was not the first of the match, as one Michael Beer over on the second evening was played out without television working at the ground. Conhecido como o “Pior do time do mundo”, o Íbis Sport Club não está honrando o seu “título” nesses últimos dois anos por conta das boas atuações dentro de campo. Na temporada passada, a equipe de Paulista chegou às quartas de final do Campeonato Pernambucano da Série A2, quando perdeu para o Decisão por 3 a 2, no agregado, e somou apenas duas derrotas. Em 2018, o time também já está classificado para próxima fase da competição estadual, com oito pontos somados, na segunda colocação, com apenas um revés, e mira o acesso à Primeira Divisão.
As últimas campanhas não retratam a alcunha negativa. Em 2017, por conta do bom desempenho, conseguiu se tornar líder da competição estadual por boa parte e teve sequência de sete jogos sem derrota. A diretoria foi alvo de críticas após um duelo do Campeonato Pernambucano, porque os torcedores queriam manter os resultados negativos, como é reconhecido há oito décadas de história. Assim como no ano passado, nesta temporada a equipe fez bons jogos e a classificação acabou vindo no triunfo diante do Ferroviário, no último domingo, por 2 a 0. O Íbis enfrentará o Petrolina na competição estadual. Em comparação com o ano de 2016, o clube se superou a olhos vistos. Em dez partidas, obteve sete derrotas e empatou três vezes, mas, mesmo assim , chegou às quartas de final, porém caiu após embate contra o Flamengo-PE. No geral, sofreu 17 gols e balançou as redes somente seis.
Em conversa com o LANCE!, o presidente do Íbis, Ozir Ramos, ressaltou que o clube trabalha com seriedade para conquistar algo maior na competição estadual. Além disso, afirmou que o principal objetivo é o acesso.
– O rendimento da equipe neste ano é reflexo da campanha da temporada passada. Mantivemos uma base e com alguns retoques, e por isso, que estamos tendo sucesso no Campeonato Pernambucano. Com muito trabalho e profissionalismo e vamos enfrentar o Sport B, já classificados – disse o presidente.
O dirigente salientou também que às brincadeiras ficam à parte por conta de ser reconhecido como “Pior time do mundo”. Ainda comentou sobre os protestos da torcida ano passado, por conta da boa campanha na temporada.
– Quanto o protesto da torcida, querendo que o clube perca, fica por conta do Marketing e das redes sociais. Aqui, trabalhamos sério e com muito profissionalismo para poder voltar à Primeira Divisão, onde o clube não deveria ter saído – ressaltou.
O presidente do clube já foca no confronto pelo mata-mata, das quartas de final do Campeonato Pernambucano, contra o Petrolina. Para ressaltar, o dirigente comentou da vontade dos atletas para o duelo.
– Vamos jogar domingo contra o Sport B, em que termina a primeira fase. E na próxima quinta-feira, nós vamos fazer o mata-mata com o time de Petrolina, uma viagem longa, muito cansativa. São 800 km de distância. Mas mesmo assim, vamos com muita vontade para voltar à Primeira Divisão do Pernambucano – exaltou.
Ozir Ramos lembrou que a equipe tem investimento financeiro abaixo dos outros. Por outro lado, o clube pode ser uma vitrine para os jogadores que querem crescer no futebol sem ter a mesma pressão de um clube grande.
– Eu falo para os meus atletas que o Íbis é um time pobre e humilde. Mas com muito trabalho, e o próprio atleta tem o clube como vitrine, pois ele pode mostrar seu futebol, onde não poderia mostrar em outras equipes. Mas eles também querem mostrar serviço, e estamos na luta – finalizou.
‘Mesmo assim, vamos com muita vontade para voltar à Primeira Divisão do Campeonato Pernambucano’
Assim como o presidente, o atacante Lucas Sabino, artilheiro da equipe na temporada, com quatro gols, também relatou que os jogadores lutam pelas vitórias de cada jogo e deixa a questão do “Pior time” para às brincadeiras.
– Isso acontece porque existe o marketing do clube. Mas nós jogadores queremos estar mudando a história do Íbis. De time vencedores. Que tem totais condições de jogar em clubes grandes. E que já passaram até na base. Como eu tive a oportunidade de jogar no Santa Cruz em 2012 , pelo sub 20 – disse ao LANCE!.
Quando ele foi chamado para jogar no Íbis, o jogador confirmou que muitas pessoas não deram apoio a ele. Contudo, confirmou que a oportunidade dada pelo clube foi importante.
– No começo, eu escutei muitas resenhas. Você vai jogar no Íbis, no pior do mundo? Eu dizia que sim, pois foi o clube que abriu às portas para mim, e está acreditando no meu trabalho – relembrou.
Como o clube não tem altos investimentos a base é fundamental. O treinador do Íbis, conhecido como Ricardo Guardiola, por dar ao vitórias e organizar a casa, ressaltou que os jovens são os principais meios para conseguir os bons resultados dentro de campo. Além disso, a capitalização de atletas é importante.
-Apostar na base, este é o grande investimento, e também capitar atletas nas avaliações que o clube faz. É um trabalho árduo, pois é difícil não ter investidores e trabalhar, mas quando é organizado e junto com a verdade tudo facilita – disse ao L!.
Ricardo Guardiola ainda ressaltou que mesmo com o baixo custo, os atletas se esforçaram para conseguir bons resultados em campo nesta temporada e que coisas irão vir para o Íbis.
-Foi a confiança da diretoria em projeto de trabalho. Como não temos dinheiro aproveitamos muitos atletas oriundos da base, atletas que se destacaram em avaliações e atletas que convidamos para nos ajudar dentro do projeto do clube. Mesmo sem ganhar, eles mesmo merecem, mas um trabalho para que eles evoluam, técnica, física e taticamente – revelou.

O técnico ainda comentou sobre seu apelido com o treinador espanhol Josep Guardiola, que comandou Barcelona e, hoje, treina o Manchester City e que tem grandes conquistas pelos clubes.
-Muito bom, prova que estou no caminho certo, trabalhando, estudando, me dedicando naquilo que escolhi para mim. Me comparam com ele porquê é o treinador do momento. Então para mim é uma grande honra e responsabilidade – elogiou.
ÍDOLO “QUER” VOLTA DA MÁ FASE
O ex-jogador do Íbis, Mauro Shampoo, que vestiu a camisa 10 nos anos de 1980 e 1990 e é simbolo do clube, vê a situação diferente. Ele revelou que quer manter a marca de Pior do Mundo, ou seja, as derrotas continuem. Com isso, o clube vira vitrine para os jogadores que estão atuando na temporada.
– Eu peguei uma época muito ruim, em que perdia todos as partidas, apesar de dentro de campo querer a vitória sempre. Agora, o time está vencendo e isso é ruim para o título conquistado de Pior do Mundo. Está acontecendo um fato histórico no clube – disse ao LANCE!.
Mesmo que queira que as derrotas continuem, Mauro confirmou que a Primeira Divisão seria algo inédito para o Íbis e que daria mais vitrine aos atletas. O ex-jogador parabenizou os protestos.
– Por conta das vitórias, está tendo protestos e apoio. Temos que continuar com esse título, como são reconhecidos. Com relação, a vaga para Primeira Divisão seria algo nunca antes visto. Há 10 dez anos sem consegui sem está na elite do Campeonato Pernambucano. Os jogadores vão consegui ser mais expostos – concluiu.
POR QUE É CONSIDERADO PIOR TIME DO MUNDO?
No final dos anos 1970 e início dos anos 1980, o Íbis ganhou fama mundial por sua péssima qualidade nos gramados. Com nove derrotas consecutivas e depois uma sequência de 23 jogos sem vitórias, conquistou fama nacional. Foram três anos e onze meses sem comemorar uma única vitória, recorde registrado no Livro Guinness dos Recordes.
TÍTULOS EM SUA HISTÓRIA
Na história do clube foram apenas três títulos pelo profissional e juniores dois. Vice-Campeonato Pernambucano A2, em 1999. No Torneio Início, conquistou duas vezes, em 1948 e 1950. Nas categorias de base, garantiu o Estadual duas vezes: 1948 e 1995.

I always said, if we play to potential, we can’t be beaten. There were a lot of questions asked about the middle order not clicking. I always had a strong belief that it would click at the right time.”At the post-match press conference, Gambhir said the late cameos from Manoj Tiwary and Shakib Al Hasan played a critical role. “It’s not about how you start, it’s about how you finish. Intikhab Alam, the PCB’s director of international cricket operations, has said the board’s list of central contracts for 2012 was dated and is open to review. The list of 42 players, which was announced by the PCB on Saturday, was finalised before the squads were selected for the upcoming Sri Lanka tour, he said. Subsequently, Mohammad Sami, Yasir Arafat and Rahat Ali, who have been picked for the tour, are without contracts.Pakistan had extended the pool of contracted players from 28 to 42, and there were several irregularities: apart from the players who missed out, fast-bowler Wahab Riaz, who has been axed from all senior squads following a poor run, was awarded a category C contract. Also, banned Quetta wicketkeeper Bismillah Khan was named under the stipend category. Meanwhile fast bowler Mohammad Talha, who is touted to be a promising prospect but is yet to find a real opportunity in the senior team, missed out despite being contracted in 2011.
