Ao ser questionado sobre a infelicidade de Liziero ao colocar a mão na bola dentro da área e cometer pênalti a poucos minutos do fim do primeiro tempo, Jucilei tirou o peso das costas do garoto e dividiu a culpa com todo o time que, para ele, precisa corrigir o que tem feito.

Harbhajan Singh, the India offspinner, has said he used Graeme Swann as an example of how to bowl on wickets in South Africa during India’s recent drawn Test series there. Harbhajan took 15 wickets in the three Tests, and said a lot of his success had to do with bowling a wicket-to-wicket line on tracks that were not offering turn, something Swann, the England offspinner, did during England’s tour of South Africa in 2009-10, when he took 21 wickets in four Tests.”Swann bowled exactly the same throughout the series: wicket-to-wicket,” Harbhajan told ESPNcricinfo in an extended interview that will be published on February 15. “He gave himself the chance. I did the same in Durban and got four quick wickets [in the first innings].”Harbhajan said he watched videos of Swann bowling during that England tour as part of his own preparation for the South Africa series. “His strength is to vary the pace very well. He has a very nice action, gets a good loop. He is a very smart bowler whether it is Test or one-day cricket he bowls a tight line.”I like the way he bowls especially with the kind of line and length he bowls. I had watched the videos of him bowling in South Africa and what made him successful. I brought similar results and picked up wickets.”Swann has established himself as one of the top spinners in the modern game and, on Monday, won the ESPNcricinfo Statsguru Award for the best bowler of 2010. Harbhajan has not seen that much of Swann bowling himself, having only played two Tests against him back in 2008, and said it was his former Mumbai Indians team-mate Shaun Pollock who, during the IPL, pointed out Swann as an example of how to bowl a straighter line.Harbhajan had a poor start to the tour, picking up just two wickets and conceding 169 runs in India’s heavy defeat in Centurion, and said he made the adjustment because bowling outside off stump in South Africa allowed the batsmen to play through the covers and point.”In the first Test, I bowled a lot of balls in their areas, which made them comfortable. The line I was bowling was outside off stump but because the wicket was so true, the bounce was true, it was not spinning so much, so the South African batsmen played on the back foot towards cover and point. The same ball they were able to drive, they were also able to walk across to and take a single on the leg side. You can’t give runs on both sides of the wicket.”It was former India allrounder Ravi Shastri who first advised Harbhajan to pitch the ball within the line of the stumps. “His reasoning was if the batsman tried to go for the cover drive he would need to open the bat and he would avoid playing the cut shot as I am bowling on the stumps. They also can’t sweep or play a cross-batted stroke as there is a chance of lbw. The only option left to them is to be patient and score runs where you have set the field.”The idea was to make the batsman dare to play against the spin. It clicked. [Hashim] Amla played numerous sweep shots in the first innings at Centurion and it worked because I was pitching outside off. Later Shaun Pollock pointed out that I should bowl wicket-to-wicket otherwise batsmen will hit me through covers or between mid-on and midwicket . So, in Durban, where it does not spin, I kept it straight and Amla went for the sweep and was lbw.”Harbhajan’s six wickets were crucial in securing India’s win in Durban, and in the third Test in Cape Town, he took seven wickets in the second innings, on a track offering him some turn.

New Zealand wicketkeeper Brendon McCullum thinks his side’s greater experience of conditions in Mirpur could give them the edge over South Africa in their quarter-final clash on Friday. New Zealand will have bitter memories of the ground – it was here that Bangladesh beat them in four successive one-day internationals in October last year – but those games will at least have given them in-depth local knowledge of what to expect.”We are used to the conditions, which has got to help us,” McCullum said. “To play South Africa in those conditions is not a bad draw at all. They obviously prefer a little more pace and bounce in their wickets. Dhaka won’t quite give them that and I’m sure they’ll be a little disappointed.”South Africa have also recently played at the ground, however, knocking co-hosts Bangladesh out of the World Cup with a thumping 206-run win last Saturday. In a ruthless performance, South Africa took the upper hand when they were allowed to acclimatise to the conditions by some wayward Bangladesh bowling and racked up 284 for 8. They then skittled their opponents for just 78.The scale of South Africa’s win over a team that had the better of New Zealand not long ago could have given New Zealand cause for concern, but McCullum insisted his team’s focus is on achieving their own goals, rather than what tactics their opponents might use.”Our game plan is reasonably basic,” he said. “Be pretty disciplined with the ball, incredibly desperate in the field and with the bat lay the platform for the big hitters later on. If we do that we’ll give ourselves the best opportunity.” If New Zealand can do that, McCullum suggested, “hopefully, South Africa will fall by the wayside and we can move on to our next opponent”.New Zealand will no doubt also draw confidence from their World Cup record against South Africa, to whom they have not lost a match in the global tournament since 1999. New Zealand have also made it to the semi-finals of the event on five occasions, a fact their seamer Daryl Tuffey said gave them a mental edge.”We know their [South Africa’s] record at World Cups and it will be in the back of their minds that they haven’t progressed as well as they should have,” Tuffey said. “For us, we’ve made it to the semi-finals regularly here.””We know what the conditions are like. It’ll be a slow track taking turn and both teams know what to expect. The Dhaka wicket is slow and low which negates their main strength with bounce, but they have some good spinners at this tournament, as do we; so it’ll come down to the middle overs and at the death.”Tuffey was a member of the touring squad that was humiliated by Bangladesh last year, and said the quarter-final was a chance to put right those failures and improve New Zealand’s record at the ground. “This is a chance to right the wrongs from October, especially the way we batted on those slow decks,” he said. “Hopefully we’ve done enough to get into a mindset of doing well.”

Imagens do protesto já estão circulando nas redes sociais. Nestes vídeos, seguranças do clube estão com armas em punho durante a entrada dos torcedores e se escuta o barulho de tiros disparados. O acesso da organizada ocorreu através da megaloja e acabou interrompendo o treino do time, que se prepara para o duelo com o América-MG, neste sábado, às 19h, em São Januário. O presidente Alexandre Campello foi muito xingado pelos invasores.

Após deixarem o gramado, os torcedores se reuniram na porta das sociais de São Januário e argumentaram que só o técnico Zé Ricardo os ouviu. Segundo o LANCE! apurou, o zagueiro Paulão correu para os vestiários e o volante Wellington xingou os torcedores. Atualização: a assessoria do zagueiro Paulão afirma que o atleta já estava no vestiário no momento da invasão – portanto, não houve fuga.

Sussex made a healthy start to their second innings to ensure they go into the fourth day with high hopes of securing a draw against Lancashire at Liverpool.The south-coast county began with the bat second time around facing a deficit of 229 runs but useful contributions from Chris Nash (43), stand-in captain Murray Goodwin and Joe Gatting helped them finish day three on 151 for 3 from 47 overs. The latter two will resume tomorrow morning on 32 not out and 27 not out respectively. They still trail by 78.The visitors had been given a scare when they lost their first two wickets in consecutive overs before the tea break. Left-arm spinner Gary Keedy got Ed Joyce caught at midwicket by Sajid Mahmood and Oliver Newby trapped Nash lbw.As generally happens, the wicket at the Aigburth ground has become much easier to bat on as the game has progressed. That was demonstrated by Lancashire replying to Sussex’s first innings total of 243 with 472 all out, an innings which ended during today’s afternoon session.Steven Croft, Gareth Cross and Tom Smith all recorded half-centuries during the third day – 64, 63 and 60 respectively. It was Lancashire’s highest innings total in 22 matches since they amassed 568 for 8 declared against Hampshire at the Rose Bowl in August of 2009.Croft and Cross were the aggressors and Smith was happy to drop anchor, demonstrated by him scoring only 19 runs from 65 balls during the morning session and facing 150 balls in total for his 60.Left-arm spinner Monty Panesar was Sussex’s most successful bowler with figures of 4 for 105 from 47 overs. The track has so far been similar to one on the sub-continent in that it has taken turn but not with much pace. Keedy bowled 18 overs in succession and finished the day with miserly figures of 2 for 28.His second wicket – the third Sussex one to fall – was that of Luke Wells, who was caught at midwicket by Stephen Moore after miscuing an on-drive. At that stage the visitors were 105 for 3 in the 28th over – but Goodwin and Gatting avoided any further dramas with their unbroken fourth-wicket stand of 46.
