Em busca de um atacante para seu time, o Internacional volta ao mercado e a bola da vez é Grafite, que deixou o Atlético-PR há uma semana. Ao UOL, o jogador afirmou que foi procurado pelo clube.

Pelo tempo em que atuou no Furacão, o atacante não poderá atuar em outra equipe da Série A nesta edição do Campeonato Brasileiro, entretanto nada impede que Grafite defenda um time da Série B. Enquanto isso, o Colorado, que conta com dois jogadores móveis na frente, Nico López e William Pottker, avalia um outro nome além de Grafite.

Túlio de Melo, da Chapecoense, também estaria na mira da diretoria do Internacional, entretanto o jogador afirma ainda não ter recebido algum contato do clube.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have been dealt a big injury blow regarding Yerson Mosquera ahead of their upcoming Premier League clash.

According to a report by BBC Sport, the 20-year-old has been ruled out for around five months after picking up a hamstring injury just nine minutes into his Wolves debut in the club’s Carabao Cup penalty shootout loss to Tottenham Hotspur last week.

In a statement posted on the club’s official website, the Wolves medical team provided an update on the condition of the Colombia under-20 international, stating: “Unfortunately, Yerson suffered a high-grade hamstring injury in the Carabao Cup game with Tottenham Hotspur and is undergoing surgery this week in London.

“It is too early to give a return date as there is such variation in how quickly players heal and recover fitness, but as a guide 4-5 months is usual.”

Massive blow

Considering that Mosquera was Bruno Lage’s first signing as Wolves manager, in addition to the club’s technical director Scott Sellars revealing that the 45-year-old was “involved in the process” of landing the centre-back, the news that the 20-year-old looks set to be sidelined for a large part of the season is sure to have left the Portuguese boss gutted.

Indeed, in a recent interview with Give Me Sport, Express & Star journalist Luke Hatfield revealed just how big of a blow Mosquera’s absence is for Wolves, stating: “It’s a big loss for the club because the squad size isn’t big and they’re working with smaller numbers than many other clubs. The timing is always a massive blow so it’s a real shame.”

As such, while it never appeared likely that Mosquera would be available for the visit of Newcastle today given the recent setback, the lengthy absence of the £1.53m-rated centre-back will nevertheless come as a huge blow to Lage. The 45-year-old now has a potential shortage of options at the back for the clash with the Magpies, particularly with Jonny Otto and Rayan Ait-Nouri also sidelined.

Entretanto, o técnico do time francês, Jocelyn Gourvennec, quer o jogador já nesta janela de transferências do meio do ano.

Ciente dessa situação, o técnico Fábio Carille admitiu a dificuldade para manter Guilherme Arana. O treinador do Corinthians até já cogitou os possíveis substituto caso o titular seja negociado.

– Tomara que fique. O Corinthians pode fazer uma negociação agora e entregar no fim do ano, como foi com o Gabriel Jesus no Palmeiras. Sabemos que é difícil, até porque o treinador deles (Bordeaux) quer de imediato, mas o Corinthians vai trabalhar bastante para que não saia ninguém. Oficialmente não tem nada agora, mas já sabemos que a qualquer momento pode chegar – disse Carille, que até projeta Arana na Seleção Brasileira.

New South Wales’ Josh Hazlewood has made it to the Under-19 squad for the one-day series against India next month as well as the preliminary squad for the 2010 U-19 World Cup to be played in Kenya. Mitchell Marsh and Alister McDermott, sons of former Test players Geoff Marsh and Craig McDermott respectively, are also part of both squads.Last year, Hazlewood at 17 became the youngest fast bowler to be picked by his state for a first-class match – against the touring New Zealanders. If picked for Kenya, he will be appearing for his second World Cup. He took six wickets in four games in the 2008 edition in Malaysia. Hazlewood was 6’5″ during the tournament and his coach Brian McFayden expected him to grow a couple of inches. “We see him as a future Australian player,” McFayden had said.The squad for the India series will assemble in Hobart on April 4. Manchester United could be set to offload struggling striker Anthony Martial over the January transfer window after Newcastle United reportedly made contact with the club over his services.

What’s the story?

The Magpies joined the financial elite of football after being taken over by a Saudi-backed consortium, and the new owners have already started devising transfer market strategies.

According to Stretty News, Martial is one of the players identified as a priority target by the Newcastle hierarchy in what is set to be an exciting if controversial era for the club.

The report stated: “Stretty News understands that Newcastle United’s recruitment team have already made contact over the possibility of signing Manchester United’s Anthony Martial in January.”

They added: “A club source, who has been involved in initial talks, has revealed to us that Newcastle United have made formal contact with the Red Devils, as well as the player’s representative.”

Manchester United fans should be delighted

Martial has been heavily linked with an Old Trafford exit in recent months after struggling for form throughout the 2020/21 campaign.

The France international’s woes have continued into the current season, leading to speculation over an imminent exit, although he did bag his first goal since 2 February in the 1-1 draw with Everton last time out.

Despite Martial’s obvious talent, his inconsistency, lack of progress and low work ethic have seen him fall out of favour with some United supporters of late.

The arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo in the previous transfer window also forced the 25-year-old down Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s pecking order, and with the 20-time English champions set to target Erling Haaland next summer, January could be the optimum time to offload their underwhelming attacking talent.

Therefore, United fans should be delighted with Newcastle’s apparent interest in Martial. The newfound wealth of the St James’ Park outfit means that the Old Trafford club can demand a premium price for the £31.5m-rated forward, recouping a large chunk of their original £36m outlay on him.

It remains to be seen whether the Magpies make a concrete offer for Martial, but there’s surely a large section of the Red Devils’ fanbase who would be happy to see him depart.
