What a strange time this is for Sunderland.

The Black Cats are at the centre of a potential takeover and they have just hired a new manager in Lee Johnson.

However, they now won’t play for a fortnight with their next three games were postponed.

Just as the positivity had been reinstalled at the Stadium of Light after their 4-0 win over Lincoln, proceedings in the north-east have become rather depressing again.

Because of an outbreak of COVID-19 within the squad, the Academy of Light has been shut until December 27th with a variety of players now having to self isolate.

Four players have tested positive for the pandemic which has only added to an ongoing list of fitness concerns within the squad.

Denver Hume is currently out injured while Luke O’Nien has a dislocated shoulder and is out until the New Year.

However, they received another damaging blow this week when Johnson revealed that Josh Scowen could miss as many as seven weeks with a shin injury.

It really does feel as though Sunderland players are dropping like flies at the moment.

The solution

Fortunately for the Black Cats, they do have a number of midfield players available to them. With Max Power ruled out against Wimbledon, George Dobson came back into the XI and was paired next to the ever-reliable and ever-consistent Grant Leadbitter.

Though, with Scowen missing they needed to find another midfielder from somewhere.

That happened to be Elliot Embleton, a man who usually prefers to play in more advanced roles. The 21-year-old had a serious hamstring injury last season which meant he didn’t play at all for Sunderland and to this day, he has still only featured on 16 occasions for the first-team.

He’s never truly had a consistent run to establish himself as a regular but now with a host of players out and lacking fitness, his chance could arrive.

It’s unfortunate the youngster never really got an opportunity under Jack Ross or Phil Parkinson. After all, the former held him in high esteem. “Embleton has been terrific since he came back for pre-season. You can see what he can provide in the final third, so I was pleased with that,” Ross commented in July 2019.

Of course, his season was ruined by injury last term but he is now fully fit and has developed nicely.

Against Wimbledon, the midfielder was assured and composed as he completed 88% of his passes, created two chances and had two shots.

If we see more of that, it’s likely Embleton will be in the team more. He definitely deserves a run.

تحدث طلعت يوسف المدير الفني السابق لفريق الإسماعيلي، عن انهاء تعاقده مع الدراويش وأزمته مع رئيس النادي الجديد يحيى الكومي.

وقال يوسف في تصريحات تلفزيونية بفضائية “صدى البلد” عبر برنامج “الماتش”: “موقفي مع الكومي يسيء لنادي الإسماعيلي ولا أريد تذكره”.

وأضاف: “مازال لدي مستحقات متأخرة لدي الإسماعيلي بجانب قيمة الشرط الجزائي، ونائب رئيس الدراويش وعد بصرف مستحقاتي وقال لي، كلمتي واحدة”.

وواصل: “الإسماعيلي يحتاج للدعم بشدة، والحل الوحيد للإسماعيلي هو التعاقد مع 6 أو 8 صفقات مكلفة جدًا في يناير المقبل، وإصابتي بفيروس كورونا منعتني من الحصول على وقت كاف للعمل مع الفريق”.

O treinamento foi fechado à imprensa. O argentino deve estar pronto em poucos dias.

Marcel Brands will soon face uncomfortable questions over Andre Gomes’ long-term Everton future as the midfielder continues to struggle under Carlo Ancelotti.

Gomes has not started a Premier League fixture since the Toffees were beaten 2-1 by Newcastle United on November 1st, and failed to offer a serious impact from the bench as he earned his 10th outing of the term against Sheffield United on Saturday.

Ancelotti has instead favoured a midfield pivot of Gylfi Sigurdsson, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Allan in recent weeks, while selecting Tom Davies to hold down the engine room after losing Allan to a hamstring injury at Leicester City.

It was Gomes who came off the bench to replace Allan at the King Power Stadium, yet the Portuguese playmaker was omitted from the following matchday squad against Arsenal and was only given the final 16 minutes at Bramall Lane on Boxing Day to offer Davies a rest.

Davies excelled against Chris Wilder’s relegation-threatened Blades with eight ground duels won, three successful dribbles from three attempts and 52 accurate passes, per SofaScore. He additionally made a successful tackle and blocked a shot, while being fouled four times.

Gomes came off the bench to play a mere five passes and lost possession four times, days after Darren Bent suggested the former FC Barcelona maestro had been exposed for his lack of pace and power during the Toffees’ Carabao Cup quarter-final defeat.

“I was disappointed in Gomes because he’s a wonderful footballer, but then again I don’t think he played particularly badly, I just think Manchester United swarmed the midfield and were by far the better team,” Bent told Football Insider.

“There are times when the opposition’s midfield are quite quick, they’re dynamic, they get about, I think that’s where Gomes lacks real legs in the middle of the park. So, you see Doucoure, he can get about the pitch even if he hasn’t quite got the quality on the ball like Gomes.”

Everton’s Director of Football Brands will soon face difficult questions over Gomes’ long-term Goodison Park future if he cannot force his way back into Ancelotti’s plans, with the £18m-rated man among the highest earners at the club on a £112,000-per-week contract.

Tosun, who Baggies boss Sam Allardyce signed for £27m whilst in charge on Merseyside, has played just 33 minutes across all competitions thus far this season and is certainly one Everton will want to offload.

وسيغيب نجم بايرن ميونخ، عن المباريات الثلاثة المقبلة للفريق بما في ذلك المواجهات الكبيرة ضد بوروسيا دورتموند وبرشلونة.

الآن الأخبار ليست رسمية بعد، لكن “بيلد” أكدت أن كيميش مصاب بكورونا بالفعل، ونظرًا لأن الألماني الدولي رفض الحصول على لقاح فيروس كورونا، فسيتعين عليه البقاء في الحجر الصحي لمدة 14 يومًا على الأقل.

وسيحتاج كيميش إلى اختبار PCR سلبي بعد ذلك للسماح له باللعب مرة أخرى.

الإجراءات التي أعلن عنها بير بايرن مؤخرًا، أنه قد لا يتقاضى راتبه أثناء الحجر الصحي أيضًا، وهو ما سيكون بمثابة ضربة مالية كبيرة له.

O He-Man já foi até aprovado nos exames médicos para defender o Atlético-MG, mas a negociação não foi concretizada ainda e o clube de General Severiano fez uma proposta ao jogador. Agora, resta aguardar.

Atualmente no Internacional, Rafael Moura está desde 2012 no Colorado. Nunca foi unanimidade em Porto Alegre, mas, aos 32 anos, poderia ser o nome experiente que a diretoria do Glorioso tanto sonha.

Em termos salariais, o atual vínculo do atacante é de pouco mais de R$ 400 mil. A proposta do Galo foi para receber cerca da metade deste valor, o que torna o atleta viável para o Alvinegro Carioca.

Rafael Moura não faz parte dos planos de Argel Fucks para esta temporada. Tanto que nem foi inscrito no Campeonato Gaúcho. O Botafogo tem Luis Henrique, de 17 anos, e Ribamar, de 18, para a posição.

Iniciado no último final de semana, o Campeonato Baiano registrou boa média de público no pontapé inicial do torneio. Mesmo com uma partida da primeira rodada ainda a acontecer – entre Galícia e Jacobina, marcada para o dia 11–, a presença do torcedor nos estádios foi significativa e comemorada pela Federação Bahiana de Futebol, cuja média supera a de estaduais relevantes no país, como o Campeonato Carioca.

Na rodada inaugural, o Baianão teve, ao todo, 15.200 torcedores. O índice de 3.040 pessoas por jogo é maior do que o estadual do Rio de Janeiro, por exemplo, que registrou, aproximadamente, 2.400 pessoas em oito jogos.

A competição levou mais pessoas aos estádios também se comparada à edição do ano passado. Em 2015, o montante foi de 13.025 e, a divisão de pagantes por confronto, de 2.170 em média – mesmo com um jogo a mais.

– É muito bom começar o estadual com uma média maior em relação ao ano passado. Queremos sempre estádios com bom público. Também é positivo observar bons públicos nos jogos do interior – afirmou Ednaldo Rodrigues, presidente da Federação Baiana de Futebol.
