أثار التأجيل الأخير لمباراة يوفنتوس ضد نابولي مزيدًا من الجدل، وأصدر نادي روما بيانًا ينتقد فيه الأمر مشيرًا إلى إنه ما كان يجب السماح به.

لم تتسبب مباراة الأسبوع الثالث هذه في أي شيء سوى الفوضى حيث كان من المقرر أن تلعب في 4 أكتوبر الماضي، ولكن تم إلغاؤها لأن نابولي مُنع من السفر بسبب وجود إصابتين بفيروس كورونا في صفوفه في ذلك الوقت.

وفي البداية تم خصم نقطة من نابولي واعتبر يوفنتوس فائزًا تلقائيًا بنتيجة 3-0، لكن تم قبول استئناف نابولي وتم تحديد موعد للمباراة يوم 17 مارس الجاري.

ومع ذلك، اتفق الناديان يوم الجمعة على تأجيل المباراة مرة أخرى إلى 7 أبريل المقبل.

أثار هذا غضب روما الآن، الذين يعتقدون أن نابولي يحصل على معاملة تفضيلية للتحضير لرحلتهم إلى استاد الأولمبيكو في الأسبوع المقبل براحة جيدة.

إنه أمر مزعج لهم بشكل خاص، حيث يلعب روما في الدوري الأوروبي يوم الخميس في أوكرانيا بزيارة شاختار دونيتسك.

وكتب روما خطابًا رسميًا إلى الدوري الإيطالي يشكك فيه في قرار تغيير موعد مباراة يوفنتوس ونابولي بعد أقل من أسبوع من انطلاق المواجهة المخطط لها.

وجاء الخطاب على النحو التالي: “نطلب توضيحًا للدافع الذي يمثل مصلحة رياضية واضحة، لأننا لا نرى حاليًا أي مبرر كافٍ على الإطلاق، بخلاف تفضيل ضمني لقائمة لاعبي فريق نابولي عندما كانوا سيواجهون هذا النادي في 21 مارس”.

Sheffield Wednesday kept up their good early start under Garry Monk as they hammered Middlesbrough 4-1 on their own turf in the Sky Bet Championship on Saturday afternoon.

The Owls have been excellent so far under the former Boro boss, with them winning two and drawing one and they certainly look play-off contenders at this point in the campaign.

Indeed, Monk has done well to keep things rather settled at the club, rather than rip things up as Jos Luhukay looked to do at times last season – which eventually cost him his job.

The former Swansea boss is doing a good job in these very early stages, then, and it seems as though the players are pretty happy with the way things are, too, given what some of them have said on social media since the full-time whistle.

وقال وحيد خلال مداخلة هاتفية عبر برنامج “التالتة يمين” المُذاع عبر “قناة الزمالك”: “الإسماعيلي لن يتفاوض مع مدرب متعاقد مع ناديه، وسيكون التفاوض عن طريق مجلس الإدارة أولًا”.

تابع: “التفاوض مع المدربين أو اللاعبين ليس على وسائل الإعلام أو السوشيال ميديا، نحن لسنا مسؤولين كنادي عن ما أشيع”.

وواصل: “ربما يكون إيهاب جلال هو الأقرب لتولي تدريب الإسماعيلي ولكن حتى الآن لم يتم الاعلان بشكل رسمي، وعندما يتم الاتفاق والاجراءات سنعلن فورًا”.

أردف: “التفكير حاليًا في مدير فني مصري وعلى دراية بالكرة المصرية”.

 استكمل: “المدير الفني للإسماعيلي هو الذي قدم اعتذاره للجنة، وغير صحيح أنه تم إقالته، نحن كنا مُتمسكين به ولكن النتائج لم تسعفه، وهو تنازل عن الشرط الجزائي”.

اختتم: “الإعلان عن اسم المدير الفني يجب أن يكون سريعًا، ونستغل فترة التوقف”.

When you’re challenging on multiple fronts, it’s understandable for a manager to simply want to play his best eleven week-in and week-out. After all, they stand the best chance of winning a game. But management is about getting the whole squad to fire on all cylinders, and Pep Guardiola has had his struggles in doing that.

Last season, Riyad Mahrez was left to wallow on the side-lines, with the Manchester City boss publicly admitting he felt guilty about not playing him. Now, it’s Phil Foden who appears to be the hot topic of conversation.

The England U21 international scored against Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League in mid-week, and the goal prompted Guardiola to come out and apologise for the youngster’s lack of first-team involvement.

On the opposite flank, Joao Cancelo and Kyle Walker are in direct competition over the right-back role, although the latter has featured in all seven Premier League games so far this season, and will most likely get the nod once again.

In midfield, Rodri has been another ever-present in the City line-up, whilst Kevin De Bruyne’s injury means there is perhaps no better time than now for Guardiola to finally place his faith in Foden. The stage is set for him to take over the creative duties from the Belgian, and if he can produce a fine display at the Etihad, the 19-year-old could be set for a more permanent stay in the first-team.

Mahrez and Raheem Sterling will be hoping to continue their fine form this campaign – the duo have scored twelve goals and provided a further nine assists between them. Up front, Gabriel Jesus scored against Everton in the league last time out, but with Liverpool continuing their flawless run, surely Guardiola must go with the tried-and-trusted option of Sergio Aguero.

وفي تصريحات نشرتها صحيفة “ماركا” الإسبانية، قال إنريكي: “لم تعجبني النتيجة على الإطلاق، ولم نشعر بالإلهام أيضًا، لكنني أحببت أسلوبنا وإيقاع اللعب الذي حاول الفريق تقديمه طوال الوقت”.

QPR lost their second game on the spin after suffering defeat to Cardiff on Wednesday night, following a 2-0 loss to West Brom on Saturday.

Goals from Sean Morrison, Marlon Pack and Callum Paterson gave Neil Warnock’s side a 3-0 win over the Cardiff boss’ former side, but one early moment saw Mark Warburton’s game plan unravel – a moment that witnessed two players’ best traits utilised to perfection.

The danger men

As previously detailed by us, Sean Morrison and Aden Flint are dominant players in the air, and we suggested that the former Brentford boss avoids long balls against the Bluebirds as the Cardiff duo would simply win the majority of the battles.

While Warburton seemingly followed our advice with a free-flowing performance that saw his side complete 483 passes to Cardiff’s 184 – with 458 of them being short passes as per WhoScored – his sensible gameplan began to come apart after one early moment in which the pair’s aerial dominance stood out in a more offensive capacity.

What happened?

After just 11 minutes they combined for the opening goal. Flint leapt highest to win the first ball, before Morrison threw himself at the second ball to head home into the net.

And that was a bit of a theme – Flint grabbed the assist for Morrison’s goal and in total won three aerial duels in QPR’s half, highlighting Cardiff’s propensity to use his best quality. Morrison was clearly a huge beneficiary, having scored the opener.

Flint, formerly of Bristol City, has won 5.6 aerial duels per game in the Championship this season, whereas Morrison has averaged 5.4 – the latter won the WhoScored Man of the Match award for his performance against QPR.

Warburton did well to ensure that his side kept the ball on the ground for the majority of the game, but that 11th minute moment saw Cardiff’s aerial might come to the fore in a different manner, and QPR weren’t able to deal with it.

It gave the R’s an uphill battle for the remaining 79 minutes of the game, allowed Cardiff a foothold to eventually secure a 3-0 win.

Arsenal goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez has admitted that he is open to a move away from the Emirates as he looks for more first-team football.

What’s the word?

Having been at the club for nine years, the Argentine stopper has found his opportunities limited.

He has made a total of 17 appearances for the club, with six coming in the Premier League.

And Martinez has now told Clarin that he may leave unless he is not offered more first-team chances, and insists he was told by Arsene Wenger that he would be first-choice, prior to the Frenchman’s departure.

“He [Wenger] always trusted me,” the goalkeeper said.

“Beyond his departure, people stayed in the club that already knew me. When I renewed with Wenger, he told me that I was going to be the number one at Arsenal.

“Unai Emery, the current coach, wanted to see me and was very surprised with me. In fact, I stayed because I knew I had real chances; otherwise, I would have gone to play somewhere else.

“London is very nice, I’m comfortable, but I’m not staying in comfort. And if I had to go somewhere else to play, I would do it.”

End of the road

Martinez has not found himself as Arsenal’s first-choice goalkeeper at any stage during his time at the club.

Since joining from Club Atlético Independiente in 2010, the 27-year-old has only played Premier League football during two out of the nine seasons he’s spent at the Emirates and has had six respective loan spells in that time with various Championship and European clubs.

The Argentine has never played more than four Premier League games in a season, during the 2014/15 campaign.

Despite a good performance during Arsenal’s 3-0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt in September, it appears that Martinez has been led down the garden path due to the change of management in 2018.

As a result, it would be best for both parties to part ways.

With the quality at Martinez possesses, he is more than capable of playing in one of the top European leagues.
